When was the last time you exercised or did another physical activity? What was this activity? How did it make you feel physically and emotionally? If it has been a while since you last exercised, why?

I feel like the last time I tried exercising was 3-4 months after my baby was born. I wanted to do some structured movements and followed a youtube exercise video for postpartum moms. I remember one video I tried had a modified version of a burpee in it. And after doing that video, I had a pain flare up the next day. I got too scared to do more videos like that and instead ended up doing more physical therapy exercises. I remember trying to do a dance video on close to Christmas because that sounded fun to me. I've been able to walk, and do simple movements for the most part. Dancing makes me feel more cheerful, creative, and energized. Yoga at times has helped me to feel meditative and strong. Lately I had been trying to follow the Youtube lowbackability to strengthen my back muscles and so was trying hip strengthening and back strengthening workouts, but they have been difficult to enjoy and I feel like I haven't really gotten my body working or moving much despite the exercises. I haven't really tried exercising because I felt almost certain it would make my pain worse and that I felt afraid of the possibility of hurting my body with certain movements.

I think the last time I truly exercised doing something vigorous that I enjoyed was during highschool when I did taekwondo martial arts with my siblings and when I did musical theater and did a lot of choreography. I felt like I had fun, that I had a purpose I was working towards. It felt good to be out of breath sometimes and feel my blood pumping through my body. I felt flexible and that I had "indomitable spirit" like our mantra was in class.
