I tried something new, and it helps. As I do my dishes I get tired and have a chair handy for resting. Now, instead of just resting, I meditate while I rest. It is creating the sensation of safety and deepening it.

We all have locations and environments that if you even think about them, the pain flares. For me—sadly—it’s standing in my kitchen. So now, I’m training my body that the kitchen is a quiet place of peace. And I’m doing small amounts of work in it each day. Right now, a few dishes. (Daily! That’s the key!)

I wonder how many other ways this could be applied? Mixing baby steps with meditation?

While using the bathroom. For busy people. When they use the bathroom, they can meditate at the end, after finishing their stuff - they can meditate for 1 - 2 minutes.

I also use positive affirmations. Mentally. I wrote about it some time ago, I forgot where. Anyway, here, on this forum. I use one while doing the dishes or walking outside or in other instances. Very helpful.

    Something to experiment with!:)

I don't know whether this would float your boat, but what I do is meditate to hour/sand glass timers. I have one in each room of the house. I do whatever I'm doing (pottering about doing my chores in baby steps) I see the timer, then I flip it over and while I stop to watching the sand run through, I slow down my breathing by lengthening my out breaths, shrug and let down my shoulders to relax them, and I also relax my jaw. You can get them for 1min / 3mins / 5mins / 10mins / 15mins / 30mins and so on. This is a set of containing a variety, but you can buy them separately and there are, of course, fancier better quality versions too that might feel more meditative to look at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Comsmart-Hourglass-Sandglass-Classroom-Decoration/dp/B07C2GTY5Y/ref=sr_1_7?crid=1L8NUNRVY9ADB&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.0hp4w7AOIi3MgzYiRzv9xxeF26RFf1JlQqpIUE-VKrS5gl3K2yr02MEWH3JmUM4cke4UDR4caU66LAC2uf7VV6dg6AlSY1ySULecA3CQxosNAyjaMP-uhFDRaugQWyR7Hr6HtSgbKzAawO-fx5qddGhsOlj-q3K4Gfeksr2E66Nx4dsRQj27O7eaqkbPQmV01Tu2Y9UYQnRLj7tiY-FPYv6EIk0KlPy1UIEZpHXEpK8pZefX8CtD65IOgXHdUeu6A3qEr_Ccj5NlCyM_IsLRP_3t3qkeIvCNz7ZOAvM9MWU.tJcAasM3h2zgGnmsew9xwJHvPyUtvs1zo_3sA1hn8g0&dib_tag=se&keywords=salt+timer&qid=1774980681&sprefix=salt+timer,aps,297&sr=8-7

I also have a lava lamp in my living room that I watch to meditate to, e.g. https://www.amazon.com/Lava-Original-Lamp-Liquid-Motion/dp/B0C6YPF1Z4/ref=sr_1_9?crid=18N29Z7AH6JC7&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.kWMTwiqmGJAl3tJAvstHmA6hKXEvAthpW8QQwOEKtv2nFTWUJbWTeiVCxNktDL005Rumr5ZOx8JV-8A3ANevMy1R68jnMMyGQ7yqLptaufMARrmLAQNCpmG231IdE4ZE-Ecjrip-ujE4gDH8jCBfqnVVQtM_MhDz2X0qEBcZvaTxwvHtuhe-6nDzVguXdMCsqpv0weTtPf5nHRhML6JpXjFBdISCYwaG9R_l-1HeU4si_zuOJyXbN8FWAmcNGKj2fHjBWgbIYzJEHVcKTe_pxKauMVqZ79nsrPx-svfycJU.lHEYI8z-EvAcCQhsYt0nVSY2LbxHkuR54dPZXW3pIJM&dib_tag=se&keywords=lava+lamp&qid=1774983847&sprefix=lavalamps,aps,283&sr=8-9&th=1

And when I'm peeling and chopping vegetables I use mindfulness meditation... noticing the colour of the peppers, the texture of them, the sound of my knife on the chopping board, that kind of thing.
