Neck Pain Headaches?

Hi

Has anyone experienced terrible headaches where it feels like your head is being squeezed in a vice?

I’m pretty sure the headaches are from my mega tight and sore to touch neck.

I saw the doctor and he checked my eyes, blood pressure etc but couldn’t see anything wrong. Blood test were also clear. He couldn’t believe how tight my neck is, said I’m like a guitar string. Suggested I have two weeks off work to try and de-stress.

These headaches are scary though, and they come with dizziness and nausea too.

Any advice?
 
Here's the thing about our forum, guys: if you accept that your symptoms, whatever they may be, are simply one of the gazillion variations that our minds can create with no physiological basis, then we are more than happy to discuss the brain-based source of your symptoms, and the emotional work needed to recover.

If you're looking to discuss specific symptomatic details here, you will definitely be disappointed, because the entire premise of this work is that once you accept that you are suffering from a mindbody condition. the physiological details are completely irrelevant.

For those who want to discuss symptomatic details, indeed, there are many other places to do so.

I am really struggling to believe 100% though, despite several diagnosis of mind body symptoms - I probably believe 80%

problem I have is the NHS wait for at least six months on a scan and a multitude of symptoms that I cannot possibly see a specialist about every one

I do not know what else I can do to believe 100%

It doesn’t help that I have OCD and ADHD
 
So now your OCD brain is obsessing over the 100%. The 100% rule is BS, and it's a great excuse to avoid doing the necessary emotional work.

You don't need to be at 100% to start doing the work. The goal of any TMS program is to get you to 100% by learning and doing.

Did you start doing the SEP as recommended?

I have already told you that based on what we see here, OCD brains are much more resistant than TMS brains.
You have had therapy recommended, not just by me. Where are you at with that?

I recommended an "unsent letter" to your father. Did you ever do that?

I’ve started journaling for 15 mins a day and meditating and deep breathing daily too. I’m on day 5. I have not done the SEP yet actually - that I will do next after I have done 28 days journaling (I’m doing Nicole Sachs’ method)

Yes I wrote a couple of unsent letters and have journaled too.
 
@patrickj, okay, that's good, so two questions:

1. Are you willing to let go of the 100% obsession? Because I guarantee you, it's holding you back.

2. What about therapy? I've told you before that people with OCD have extremely resistant brains, and they need help from a skilled therapist to push through the barriers.
 
@patrickj :have you ever taken the ACE test? Adverse Childhood Experiences. Just look it up, it's really easy to find online on reputable sites. The npr.org site is usually at the top. Ten simple questions. The accompanying articles tell you everything you need to know.

Yes of course I’m willing to let go 100%.. it’s hard when I’ve had the same symptoms for 15 years - also sitting on the sofa and in my desk chair triggers my pain and it’s hard to convince myself that’s not the reason for my pain.

Just done an ACE test.. I got a 3 out of 10..

I’ve also had therapy.. got another lot booked in aswell to start in a few weeks

it’s a 6 month wait for NHS therapy
 
That's good, Patrick. I have a suggested topic for therapy and journaling, which is victimhood.

You might also want to look at your tendency to provide "Yes, but...." responses. Your brain is constantly getting you to expound on all the reasons you can't progress. As long as that continues, you won't in fact achieve any progress.
