Beloved Grand Eagle
A couple of years after a severe whiplash - thinking that I was seeing a whiplash specialist - the Dr concerned told me bluntly that it was not the accident that caused my problems but that I had a disease - probably a muscle disease, like Rheumatoid Arthritis or MS or Lupus and a whole string of other names. I was totally in shock. (Never mind that they are not anyway..)
He gave me no more info and no friendly words or advice. I was 40 miles from home and felt suicidal. I thought I would go home and leave my husband immediately as I did not want him to have to go through whatever it was I had. It was so harsh and done without any compassion or thought for how I was going to digest/take the news.
There is NO excuse for this type of patient 'treatment'.
