How do you change limiting beliefs that may be holding you back?

    There are many, many ways.
I started with what is called “Meta” meditations. Kristen Kneff has some great ones. Basically you offer good thoughts to the world, and then turn it around to yourself. I did this on repeat, daily, to learn to be comfortable with giving myself self-love. That is usually the first self-limiting belief hurdle.
Next I made a list of my conscious self-limiting beliefs, and then I began to slowly work through the list with another column of why these things were not true. Eventually I got to a few really core elements. Then I used EFT. There are many EFT free guides on YouTube like Tapping With Brad who deal with these beliefs. Eventually I learned to use his method of scripting to come up with my own “scripts” to challenge and reprogram these beliefs. This has worked well for me, personally.
Others simply use very long meditations which teaches you to separate yourself from thoughts for awhile. Over time, this really works for some folks.
Frankly, it’s a pretty similar method to doing internal TMS work because it’s so related. The SEP will guide you through methods you can use to challenge many of those beliefs. Thru are simply defense mechanisms, which is what the pain or physical symptoms and anxiety are as well. With time and patience, these things pass.

In the past there has been discussions of something g termed afformations which is much more like EFT wording vs affirmations.
Affirmations you use, might not be in line with your core beliefs, and if you aren’t aware of what those are yet, then affirmations may be interpreted as unbelievable, or lies; inner conflict.
Afformations are more true: you switch wording of affirmations around.
Instead of “I am” to something you aren’t sure you believe in, you might state “I’m working towards”, or “I am curious if”..
For some folks it’s more believable. Others put sticky notes around their homes with affirmations they are working on, or look in the mirror and say it..

Thank you for that. That is helpful.

There is a comedian in the UK called miranda hart. I wonder if she has TMS

I love her in Miranda and Call The Midwife! I relate to her a lot, one of the reasons is because we are the same height. We also have a similar sense of humor.

I love her too. There's also this possible (most of us, including Dr Mate, would say probable) connection to TMS:

Dr Mate looked into the life and mental health histories histories of a number of comedians and also personally interviewed several others for his new book, The Myth of Normal. It's well known that many artists and performers suffer from stress and trauma-induced physical and mental health conditions.
