Day 5 I did the exercise today

Well I attempted the upper body exercises today. My neck and shoulders were sore before, during, and after. However, the pain does not seem to be any worse (yet). I have noticed a twinge in the rotator cuff area where I received cortisone injections many years ago. I will continue to stay committed to my exercise program regardless of the pain. Thank you all for your thoughts and comments and please keep them coming.

Nice work mate. What pain/s do you get while exercising btw? The reason I ask is I regularly weight train and have needed to work around pain also for years. It can be challenging though I like going to the gym too much to let these things stand in the way. I've had so many injuries both real and as part of TMS!

I agree, I also enjoy weight training too much to let TMS prevent me from continuing. The pain I feel while exercising is just the regular burning tightness and stiffness in my neck and upper back/trap area. To be honest the pain seems to diminish slightly while exercising. Have you noticed any reduction in symptoms at all during your journey?

@RonnieG I like the advice you hear on this forum - to keep doing what you like. I think it's words to live by. It's easy to want to give up when life gets hard.

I have noticed a few changes. I'm less panicked about pain these days. It's still a work in progress though I try to let the pain be there and still do what I want. I've had many years of stressing the f* out thinking it was the end of the world. As much as I want to the physical pain/s to go away, my priority has shifted to working on the fear and anxiety. To me that's most important now, and I think it really has been all along. If I'm good with myself, the pain will fade.

Keep up with the SEP. I think it's a great program.

Thank you very much Mando. This is excellent advice as far as I’m concerned, I will continue with the SEP. I agree, my fear and anxiety are the main contributors to my pain. I will continue to work through it and persevere. Again, thank you for the encouragement!
