    Hi, all...

It can be really helpful to be able to quote posts, so I made a quick video on how to do it. Check it out!
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them in this thread. Eventually, I'll move the thread to our Technical Support subforum, but for now I thought I would start it out in the General Discussion forum.
    Happy posting!

If you prefer a more detailed introduction, you can check out the following video. However the above video will probably be perfectly fine.

Thanks Forest, I've used the quote symbol in the toolbox, which works, but it never came out with the name of the person I was quoting. I'll try it here and see how it goes.

This topic came up again and here's a non-video description of the process of quoting individual sections - because the software changed at some point after 2013, and it's much MUCH easier to quote small sections now!

    1. Be sure you understand (from the short video in the first post above) about not messing with the information inside the two (starting and ending) sets of brackets [...]

    2. If you have not started your reply and you want to quote only a small section or a sentence from someone's longer post, use your mouse or finger to hold, drag, and highlight the section you want to quote. A small "Reply" balloon should appear at the end of the highlighted section. Click on it. Your post is now started below. You can enter text before and/or after the quote.

    3. If you already started your reply and want to insert a quote, first make sure that your cursor is located where you want to insert, before going back up to the original post and doing the drag/highlight/Reply thing.

    4. Do this as many times as you like. If you move things around, maintain the integrity of the brackets. And, as a matter of forum etiquette, don't be tempted to change anything between the brackets - it's not your text.

After posting above, I highlighted a small section that I want to quote. Here is a screenshot of how it looks:

And, here is the actual quote after I clicked on the Reply balloon
