Help! Stressed about Neck MRI Results

Hello all! I have been experiencing elbow pain and trigger finger tingling for the last seven weeks, and the ortho suggested I get an MRI of the neck, it just came back with the following,

"At C6-7, there is posterior bulging of the disc. Superimposed upon the disc bulge is a large 5 mm disc
protrusion at the level of the proximal neural foramen with severe stenosis."

I have a follow up with the ortho doc, but this sounded bad and has me worried. Anyone with a similar MRI? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thank you in advance!

"Bad" images, either from MRI or Xray are the absolute hallmark of TMS stories, to the point that it is almost a stereotype or cliche.

The verbiage/terminology and sometimes the images themselves (of a crooked back for example) are so frightful they feed the TMS "monkey-mind" inside us, almost like a delicacy.

Yours could be a legitimate structural issue, and you're smart to see an MD on this to rule things out, but just know that almost all of us have stories of scary imagery like this in our TMS journey.

Thank you, that gives me comfort! This has been quite the journey. I am off to re-read Dr. Sarno’s discussion of the neck in MBS while I wait for my ortho appointment…. Words like “severe stenosis” really are quite scary.

Words like “severe stenosis”

We all have war stories of scary terminology like this. I had a "severe tear of my Hip Labrum and extensive Femoral Acetabular Impingement (FAI)"...all of it ended up being TMS.

There's tons of anecdotes in Sarno's books of spinal/neck imagery showing bulges and crookedness etc. Remember that Sarno calls those "normal abnormalities."
