Help Pelvic Pain which moves

Discussion in 'Support Subforum' started by GreatStoriesToTell, Aug 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM.

  1. Hi, I have an anxiety background and had been through lots of symptoms even mouth burning which subsided, now one day I got this stringing sensation in my penis which made me attentive towards it. Later the pain started in scrotum and leg along with lower abdomen right side. My reports shows kidney stone 5.4 mm which is in right mid pole sitting there from March. I have problem in believing it is because of kidney stone because my pain migrates and sometimes moves on left side as well same places.

I went to urologist and he did my USG kub pvr where we found kidney stone and urine routine which was normal but the bacteria count was borderline, said reports are normal. I am more scared about infections, I need to understand how do I proceed. My psychologist says it is anxiety as you already had Mounth burning earlier which sometimes flare up but subsided. So even this is a part of anxiety.

I do not understand how to handle this, today I got same penile pain which pains constantly. Can someone guide me when to believe it as TMS.

    Hi @GreatStoriesToTell
TMS is a form of anxiety. And all TMS is cured the same way. Start with a book by John Sarno. The MindBody Prescription is a good one. Even if he doesn’t mention your symptoms specifically, you can apply what he says to your symptoms. It is now widely accepted that TMS can take on many forms. Another really good book you might find helpful is Hope and Help for Your Nerves, by Claire Weekes.

What does your doctor say about the stone? I imagine they aren’t going in to operate on a few millimeter kidney stone that sounds like is still in the kidney? We aren’t doctors or medical professionals. And the tough thing is that two things can be true at once. You can have pain related to the kidney stone, but also have TMS, and your fear and anxiety are making everything worse. So it becomes hard to distinguish which should be treated physically and which should be treated with a mindbody approach. The last thing we want to do is say absolutely just treat as TMS while you have a brewing health issue that requires treatment.

if your doctor says just monitor and that It shouldn’t be causing issues then absolutely apply a mind body approach here, there is nothing to be lost. In fact even with physical issues it is wise to apply the concepts of not catastrophizing, of managing fear, of not obsessively googling and research.

you’re in the fear loop, and it’s really easy for me to say you need to get out of it. But I really do empathize with your situation, it’s not easy. And if you need a second opinion from a different doctor to put your mind at ease then I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, atleast not in situations like this. But you need to be wary of the medical merry go round and getting sent for test after test which just makes you spiral more. You have a history of TMS symptoms, keep that in mind.
