Found this interesting study on more obscure benefits of journaling. Here is the link.

What interested me, is that they found statistically significant improvements in wound healing speed -- even when the writer experiences no stress reduction from the writing.

It's been in line with the research on the now widely recognized biological effects of expressive writing. Interestingly enough, some studies have talked about "negative" emotional effects on people who are normally not normally expressive, where writing about experiences leads them to experience more emotional distress. I thought this was rather interesting tidbit which seems to fit with people's TMS experiences.

Interesting! I found, when working through the SEP, that journaling does not come easily to me, and at times I questioned the benefits. But perhaps writing helped me in ways that i hadn't recognized.
Thanks for the heads up.
