Hi I am not a stranger to chronic pain, I have lived with migraines the majority of my life and my mind has sen me an array of chronic issues. I fractured my back 25 years ago and even after the injury had healed the pain persisted. Eventually I got things under control and went on about my life, whenever I would have a back pain flare I'd rest, ice, hot baths, stretch etc. Since I wasn't paying it much attention I was sent another chronic condition, this time I had terrible pelvic pain I went to PT, yoga, meditation..... you name it I was doing it (well I did a lot of external treatments but never looked within), eventually I learned to ignore the pelvic pain and went on about my life. Until the mind sent me another chronic condition and so on and so on and so on. I honestly never new how many chronic issues I had until I started journaling - my first health issue started when I was 5 (50 years ago) I wrote out a list of conditions I've had one would go away and soon after another on would pop up. I am now chronically dizzy having a feeling of rocking and swaying that ebbs and flows throughout the day I've been diagnosed with vestibular migraine and MdDS - the f'n horror. Anyway, I found this site and am working through this program and working with a therapist so that I can finally take a look behind the curtain and deal with stuff instead of burying it. Wish me luck!!!

Welcome @fressia1988 and indeed, good luck! It really sounds like you are in the right place with the right mindset, and I hope you will find the SEP to be complementary to therapy.

It's really interesting how many people find Dr Sarno and this work at a "particular" age. There is another new member almost your same age who also posted today. I myself was 60 when I arrived here, 14 years ago, and I did the SEP way back then - long before the forum became my favorite volunteer activity when I eventually retired.

    Keep us posted!

Hello! I was once misdiagnosed with Mal de Debarquement syndrome, but then learned that the hallmark of that condition is that it happens after you get off a boat or plane and that the dizziness goes away when you get back on a moving vessel, but I didn't have that. Do you? That misdiagnosis led me to have to go to physical therapy for what was just vestibular migraine symptoms, which led me down a rabbit hole for years trying to realign ear crystals which were never a problem in the first place!! I didn't get any better, but instead got more and more anxious and depressed over that time. Then I found a new TMS specialist who explained this to me and once I learned that my dizzy symptoms were caused vestibular migraine only I was able to get well and now I feel fantastic and am back in grad school -- I hope to one day be a TMS therapy provider myself, just give me a few more years!! My doc said "when the diagnosis is wrong, the treatment is wrong". That was so correct!! I'm so grateful to have found a doctor who used to suffer from migraine too so she understood and knew just what to do!! I hope you find full healing! I had be so ill for so long. I'm still amazed, which is why I'm always on this site. You're in the right place!! Please keep us updated and post your success story when you get well!! I love reading them so much!! Good luck!
