Q: Since starting this program have you told anyone about your condition and TMS? Why or Why not? If you have how did they react?
A: Yes, I have told at least two people I can remember. My youngest cousin & my support worker. I explained the theory behind TMS/MBS & they not only understood it but agreed it made total sense. I think the biggest thing which makes the difference between this diagnosis & previous ones such as hypochondria & healing yourself purely by positive affirmations, is that the physical pain is explained scientifically, physiologically, medically AND it makes total sense. There is no victim blaming here or shaming mental health processes. We are asked into a dialogue with ourselves & processes rather than going to a therapist "to be fixed."
I am not discounting the need for psychotherapy & positive affirmations here. My point is that this program puts the responsibility for healing on the patient & a deeper process than just positive affirmations. After all if positive affirmations don't change your beliefs & feelings within, they just don't work! Heal Your Body by Louise Hay proved that to me in the 80's. I like the enquiring & adaptive approach of this system. Thank you for reading fellow TMS/MBS travellers!
