Day #1

Hi all!

It's bee a journey. I got COVID 2.5 years ago, and still dealing with lingering symptoms. I focused on healing my physical body for the first 2 years, and it's only been in the past 6 months that I began working with the mind.

I read Gabor Mate's books "When the Body says No" and "The Myth of Normal", through these I could tell how my mind can be contributing to my sense of unease. I enrolled in one of his programs and realised I have a bunch of trauma (and trapped emotions) that I've been running away my whole life.

It's been rough confronting all of this, but I'm ready and feel like I need to. Doing some Reddit research I came across this program - I'd have been sceptical of it 6 months ago, but now being clearer about how the mind-body connection works, I'm all open to go for this journey and let my symptoms behind. I am ready to face my emotions, my trauma, my pain and anger and let my body know that there is no need for me to be distracted from them anymore. I'm a grown up man, I have tool and resources to handle whatever comes to the surface :)

Welcome to the forum and Day 1 of the SEP, @PhillipAndr! Dr Mate is often recommended here (I consider When The Body Says No to be the third book that helped me turn my life around 12 years ago).

Many congratulations on finding this work and creating a new reality for yourself. We're here for your support!
