I've had chronic back pain for about 5 years. I've been medically cleared and there’s no structural explanation for my symptoms.

About two years ago I attended a rehabilitation centre in the Netherlands (Enschede), where we worked extensively with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Looking back now, many of the principles strongly overlap with Dr. Sarno’s work. I was already aware of his work back then, read multiple books, and instead of being an in-patient I could take the treatment plan as an outpatient.

Over the past year my symptoms have increased. Alongside the pain, I’ve developed anxiety and panic attacks. At the same time, several major life changes have happened: I’ve been promoted at work, and I’m in a relationship with a wonderful woman who has children from a previous relationship. While these are positive developments, I can feel how the added responsibility and emotional load sometimes take a toll on me.

I’ve heard about the TMS Wiki many times through YouTube channels like Pain Free You and Jim Prusac (PAIN PT), but I never seriously looked into it until recently. The amount of recognition and clarity I’ve found in such a short time has been striking.

I’m planning to follow Dr. Sarno’s 42-day educational program, with the intention of learning to respond differently to my symptoms and to approach this process with consistency and openness.

I’m grateful this community exists and I’m looking forward to learning from and alongside others here.
