Hi,

recently I have lot of mid back pain when working in office chair and pain increases as day goes on especially on a weekday. When it’s holiday I feel like it’s less. I tried changing my office chair also. Anyone have success to overcome condition response like this to reduce pain ?

Anxiety is a common TMS symptom, and needs to be addressed directly as part of the recovery process. Resources by Dr. Claire Weekes are very effective in dealing with anxiety. I have read Dr. John Sarno book and Alan Gordon books already and completed assessments too. I just want help or tip from others on overcoming the conditoned

On repeat I pictured Dr. Sarno saying sitting doesn’t cause pain (from some footage I saw of him). I would tell myself that the pain was emotion, and that I was fine.
What could I be angry about sitting?
Being forced to sit when I’d rather be doing something else? Well, I needed to work.. so I increased time not sitting - taking breaks that included walking, or anything else pleasant. Eventually, this combined with journaling, meditation, doing the free SEP and Alan Gordon’s program (also on this website) reading Claire Weekes books for anxiety (part of the emotional work), and an overhaul in my mindset I am conquering sitting pain as one of my symptoms.

To do the work, commit to the Structured Educational Program per my post.

Or you might do Alan Gordon's Pain Recovery Program (there's a link on the main TMSWiki.org home page).

Whichever program you choose, you must stick with it even when it gets hard and your brain is trying to convince you to quit.

Read at least one post each day in the Success Stories subforum.
