That's a very good question. The changes that need to happen is having the courage to face the pain. Thanks to the previous 3 weeks, the pattern of pain avoidance and emotional suppression is a little clearer. I have such an established and practiced habit of avoidance that sitting with the pain is the obvious step. Every part of my logical brain is telling me to keep running, but I think it's time to begin making peace with myself. It's going to be impossible to quiet the anxiety I feel constantly without facing the parts of myself the scare me the most.
