I am going through some TMS issues and a previous old healed injury has now developed swelling and pain. Is this TMS or did I re injure it? It a a broken wrist with a plate and screws. Thanks.

Yes. Absolutely. I have RSI in both elbows, during the initial flare my elbow was noticeably puffy/inflamed. Plenty of success stories will, report swelling and other physical changes. The brain can create literally any sensation, and the subsequent immune response can create physiological changes.

It’s still wise to follow up with a doctor and get an x ray to make sure everything looks good, especially since you have hardware, but then you can proceed with treating as TMS.

LOL... Yes, My knee once swelled up and it was TMS, My feet swelled and it was TMS and most recently, my wrist and Thumbs. ouch.....it just twitched thinking about it.

I can work for hours and hours doing difficult physical labor (I am a construction worker/Painter/Laborer)..I turn 60 next month , but have been pain free since I read Sarno in the late nineties......
Than I noticed my thumb socket swell up on the right side while i was on the most lucrative Job I have had in years.... I ignored it. Then the other side swelled and got painful.... I Just went back to reading Sarno and working through it. Physically AND more important, Mentally.
I realized that I was in a situation that reminded me very much of my childhood...being poor working around a lot of Rich people and putting a big smile on it!!!

The pain has been nigh gone for months but the swelling comes and goes and has ZERO to do with the pain. Most days I forget about it . I play guitar fingerstyle for hours at a time and never have a problem.
