    hey all, a while ago i wrote a success story, as I successfully got rid of a year long sciatic pain. no longer is fear holding me in that regard.
    now 2 days ago, I had another recurrence, they do not happen to often, but sometime they do, maybe 1-2 a year. what I learned is that they are typically accompanied by prolonged stress, bad sleep etc. so the triggers could be more acute, then some childhood trauma for example.
    anyways, first thought was like, hey is this TMS or a 'real injury'. I've been working out very hard at the gym, and acute injuries do happen sometimes.
    but then the pain was way too similar to my past sciatic pain. the first thing I did the next day, i went to the gym again, and worked out the hardest I could, the areas which were the most in pain. what was interesting, that during the workout I had literally 0 pain. clear sign of TMS. it came later during that day, and I applied the old school sarno mind technique 'nothing wrong with me, it is just a signal, do not fight it, it is not a threat, ....'. and 2h later I felt nothing!
    tldr; you can beat recurring pain really really quick. I believe you can beat original pain quick too, but early on, as we learn, things do seem just more difficult. but they don't have to be. now I truly believe you can go from 10/10 pain to 0/10 pain in couple days/hours even.

    @lukas-z!!! dancea

    I feel like this belongs in the Success Stories subforum, my friend. If you are willing, but don't see a way to make that change, let me know and I'll do it (as a mod, I can't tell if a "regular" member can move their thread after it's been posted - I only know that I can do it for anyone - but not without permission of course :D).

    Isn't this work amazing and awesome?

    PS, not too long ago I posted a link to one of Nicole Sachs' podcasts from earlier this year where she described her own symptom flare-up and quick recovery by applying her JournalSpeak method. Let's see... OK it's the Feb 16th episode, "Severe Nerve Pain... " is the start of the title.

    I have had sciatica for 7 years….just recently started fully committing to TMS healing and teaching myself that it is the only thing going on. But…it’s tough!! How did you beat it initially? I agree that if you beat it once it’s easier to beat it when it recurs.

    I am currently dealing with sciatica and the pain is so terrible that it makes me restless even if I don't try to focus on it. Can't stand or walk for more than a minute. Can you pls suggest what to do when the pain is extremely high? When the pain is moderate I can manage to not be fearful but when it reaches extreme level beyond my tolerance limit I feel defeated and don't understand how to deal with it calmly.

    This has been my experience, too, whenever I have a relapse of TMS. The hardest part is admitting it is TMS. Once I do that, the pain is gone in hours.

    Congratulations on your success!
