In 1984, while working at a library, I happened upon Dr. Sarno's book, and I was spellbound.
I, like my mother, was debilitated by back spasms, and still am.

I am a true believer in TMS, and I know trauma, big or small, can rear its ugly head in the form of pain, and is a great reminder that it is not to be ignored. I have spent much of the morning reading older posts on back pain, and it's so helpful!

Christmas with my family is often troublesome, and I am so glad it's over! We do not (nor will I) discuss politics, but that fact alone makes me anxious how anyone can dismiss what's going on.

My back spasm is always in the same one-sided muscle, lower back area. I know exactly what it is, yet my monkey brain wonders, "what if?" I know better, and I know what to do, but this time it's taking longer.

I'm doing exercises for back pain, and they are not helping. Yeah, maybe today I will take a break. My family left last night, and I'm sitting with my heating pad (I know), thinking today I will do better. Always obsessively striving, even when that's not a good thing.

I needed to connect with y'all, cause that gives me hope and comfort. I plan to be ever-so-mindful today, and remind myself that I am okay, that this is TMS screaming for attention.

Even though I don't write much, this forum helps me know I'm not alone, and that TMS is real!
