I started a meetup group for the TMS community. The intent is to replicate the small group meetings that Sarno held while at NYU. So far, I'm the only member so please join! I live in Bethesda, MD just outside of Washington DC. Hopefully, I will get to meet some of you great people and together further our understanding (and healing) of TMS. Please go to www.meetup.com and search for DC TMS.

thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric, that is really wonderful news. It takes some patience to start a local TMS support group, but if you stick it out, it can be incredibly rewarding.

Have you reached out to Andrea Leonard-Segal yet? She contributed a chapter to The Divided Mind and may be able to refer people who would be interested in participating.

Let me know if there is anything we can do to help.

Hi Forest, Thanks for the feedback. More importantly thanks for all of the great work you've done for us dealing with TMS. I actually went to see Dr. Segal a few years back. She is a very nice lady but my experience was extremely disappointing. She told me that most of my condition was arthritic in nature and referred me to a rheumatologist colleague. I've seen similar posts where she has told people that their TMS symptoms were physical in nature. It was like seeing a TMS Dr. who didn't believe her own medicine. I guess it underscores how hard it is for all of us to overcome traditional thinking. On a more positive note, I've been working with Derek Sapico from Alan Gordon's office. Progress has been slow but steady and that office probably understands TMS better than anybody. Thanks again! Eric

Hi Eric,
I live in Bethesda, and I am in back pain now.
I don't know if I will be free on 18 of June. Anyway I am here.
Antonio
