I was asked today to create a post regarding my progress with the treatment. Before I began I had two very significant symptoms. Pain in my neck and upper back and shoulder area, and pelvic pain. I was introduced to the Mindbody concept approximately 3-4 weeks ago. I have experienced significant relief in my pelvic area however I am struggling with the neck and shoulders. I regularly get crunching and cracking in the neck and shoulders and I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the past. I believe I may be struggling with TMS diagnosis acceptance due to the regular crunching in the neck and shoulders. Would anyone be able to comment or provide any advice for this issue? Thank you very much.

Hi @RonnieG, you can use our keyword search box to find references to joint noises, which are commonly reported. It might take a few attempts to find a good word combination since people have many different ways to describe it, and the medical field doesn't apply a single term that everyone uses.

My comment and advice is to recognize that you are still at the very beginning of your TMS education, and to give it time. Go back to the introduction home page for the SEP and perhaps read the "Week 0" and related forum post with advice for doing the SEP. One of the things mentioned is that it's common for old symptoms to get worse and/or new ones to pop up as you're "doing the work". Day 10 is a very typical time for this to happen.

It's also really common for some initial symptoms to significantly reduce or even disappear during the initial discovery of TMS knowledge (sometimes referred to as "the book cure" although the effect is often temporary) but it's almost guaranteed that the symptoms that bother you the most are the ones more likely to stick around and perhaps even get worse.

IOW, you're on track and completely normal. Relax, and also Rejoice!
