I have found numbness and burning to be very common symptoms in TMS. Since you have seen a doctor and ruled out any serious conditions I'd say it's safe to say you are dealing with TMS. Now I guess you need just apply the principles. I usually start with asking the question, what's going on...
That's amazing. I read that book by Claire Weeks by the way - Hope and Help for Your Nerves. I really liked it and found it helpful. In it she says it's basically a fear of fear in many cases. So when you face it, accept it, allow it and watch it what happens is you see there is really...
In my opinion you just watch and allow it. You don't try and fight it or change it. When you do that for some period of time you begin to understand fear and thought and your relation to them. Trying to fight and struggle does not help in my opinion it just gives fear more power over you...
I find that I need to goto a doctor rule out anything serious. When they do it sets my mind at ease and then I can confidently treat it as TMS. Sarno said to do that. Have a doctor check it out to rule out anything serious and when they do you can confidently treat it as TMS.
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you are under a lot of stress and I'm sorry. I had a stressful moment yesterday and guess what I got a migraine. I saw it for what it was. I think the pain is really serving it's purpose which is distraction. Maybe make a list of all the stress in your life...
As an update I'm making progress everyday. I've stopped using crutches and adding an extra minute to walking every other day or so. Even did some leg presses at the gym the other day. I still have issues when I try to walk fast where it just feels like the shin muscles are locking up but I'm...
Yes, I've never been particularly religious but I have found myself praying everyday. Honestly the only way I found to feel alright is to learn to let go and just be ok with everything as it is. There is so much freedom in that way of being I have found, and all the mystics seem to have been...
Thank you for the kind words Diana. Yes, I will look into that book. I've heard great things. I've already started lowering my stress when I found out I don't have stress fractures. I did a 5 min walk yesterday with pain but I'm no worse for it and will continue the baby steps until I'm back...
If it makes you feel any better I've had frozen shoulder. The pain was bad and I could not move it and do normal things. It was scary. The Dr. says it was from scar tissue built up from not using it because I had an injury. I don't know if that's true or not. But here is what should make...
I've had this and got over it. And for me the pain was so bad I felt like I was going to pass out. The thing that helped me the most initially was to seek out success stories, I find those very reassuring. I found lots of them and that gave me the hope that this was all just TMS. In...
Yes. I was once jogging and I really wrenched my leg bad. I had a ton of pain in the groin area and assumed I had a groin pull. I limped around in pain for 2 months and then finally went to the Dr. when I could take it no longer. He ordered an MRI. I had to wait another month to get the...
Hello: I've been on quite the journey with issues in my lower legs and feet. It all started when I increased my level of activity, - jogging, hiking and walking. One day I woke up and my shins were so tight I could not really walk or stand. I went to the urgent care where they said possible...
I currently have a muscle knot in my neck. I did have a bit of an accident that impacted my neck but I didn't have any issues for about 10 days then it really started to hurt and that's when I first noticed the knot. It's a small pea sized lump just below the base of my skull sending shooting...
