Mind/Body Book Excerpt That Convinced Me I Have TMS

I've been talking TMS for about 6 months now and I've gotten two or three people to buy a book. I usually recommend "Mind Body Prescription". But I've not had anybody report becoming pain-free because of it.

    *almost a success story....

Yea, I try not to pamper myself to avoid the pain. I'm actually really bad about constantly trying to nudge it to see if it's gone entirely away yet. I am a believer in body mechanics and ergonomics though. Not over the top $1000 work stations, etc but I do believe we have to use the same...

Mind/Body Book Excerpt That Convinced Me I Have TMS

This is the first "Questions to Ponder" answer that I'm sharing with the forum. I don't share most of them because who really wants to read about a happy memory from my childhood, the last time I exercised or something of that nature? I certainly believe they're worth me exploring but I'm just...

Back from Holiday , now what ......???

I would see the whole thing as a success and support for the idea that your pan is emotionally based. Get away from life and it's stressors and reminders of emotional hurt and the pain goes away. Return and it returns. If your pain was physically based the rigors of travel would have made it...

    Day 4

MQuest; one of the really tough things is that there's no lab test or imaging study for TMS. And when you see these very salient images of a disc herniation compressing a nerve root it's so hard not buy into it. Because part of it is true. Compressed nerves will affect function. But they...

    Day 4

If a motor nerve if compressed with enough force and for a long enough period of time it can be permanently damaged and will no longer innervate the portion of the muscle it serves which will result in weakness. That being said there are many cases of muscle weakness being caused by TMS. Read...

    Day 1

Welcome seangela. I'm a new comer myself but I feel like I should be welcoming to others and offer what help I can and not just left everyone offer advice to me. Nor do I think I have to wait to be healed. Like you I've been wrestling with my pain and trying to heal through TMS for awhile...

    Day 1

Thanks for your welcome and your advice Jan. In regards to your bulleted advice: 1) Being very left brained I'm going to get very hung up on having a path to follow and follow it exactly. It's hard not to because you want the structure at a time when you are living in such physical chaos and...

    Day 1

I had a lot of reservations about joining a pain forum / discussion group. I've been dealing with this for 5 years and seen a few discussion sites. They always scared me. But this one seemed to have some positivity most back pain forums don't. And I'm pretty stuck in my healing, there's that...
