Have any of you quit your job that was killing you?

I developed a terrible TMS due to a very stressful job about 2 years ago. Drunk customers, people yelling at me, throwing money on the counter, overall bad attitude, stupid boss. I had to quit because I couldn't walk anymore. All I can say is I don't regret leaving that place!

RSI & Achilles Tendonitis - 1 Week since the start of my journey

Hi Albert, I also suffered from some terrible Achilles tendonitis. Mine lasted almost a year and I still get some flare-up some days. Similarly I read "Healing Back Pain" and watched some youtube videos about Dr Sarno and Dr Schubiner. These along starting the Structured Educational Program on...

    Low Back and Shoulder issues

hey sumol, I think some lifts are just not good for some people's body types. I could never bench, because my wrists would hurt. No matter what grip, what machine, or how my friends helped me. I just couldn't. If it wasn't my wrists it was my shoulder. I don't know why. I even had some former...

More symptoms. Symptom Imperative? I need help.

Hey man, indeed you went through a lot of massively stressful events. On the Holmes and Rahe scale, it rates quite high : https://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/The_Holmes_and_Rahe_Social_Readjustment_Rating_Scale_(SRRS)#Adults (The Holmes and Rahe Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS)) Have you tried...

    Here again after 8 years

This sounds like a pretty big source of stress. I understand why one would be in pain after such an event. Hopefully you can enjoy those 3 weeks and relax, come back pain free!

    day 16 question to ponder

Same for me. I told a few trustworthy people only. Many don't believe TMS can exist at all, so I avoid the topic. It reminds me of the 20/20 segment on Dr John Sarno : the journalist healed thanks to Dr Sarno, but when he told his own brother about it, the brother preferred to stay sick than try...

Heal - amazing documentary on Netflix

I watched it a few weeks ago. I liked it a lot.

Difficulty to commit to the program

Hi Fourteen, Dr Sarno would say that knowledge is the "penicillin" for TMS. Reading and learning about it regularly helped me heal very fast. I think it took me just under a week to challenge myself after reading his book. It was scary but worth it. Devoting 10-15 min a day, maybe first thing...

New to this. Where do i start?

For your tooth, please don't wait. I know some people who waited too long and the infection spread. The sooner the better! For the books, I suggest "Healing Back Pain", by Dr Sarno. Don't worry about the title , it does go into other ailments, not just back pain. Very easy to read, most people...

Burning leg pain for so long- is it truly TMS??

hi and welcome, You mentioned you've followed Dr H. Schubiner for a while. Do you mean you consulted him? Or you read his book "Unlearn Your Pain" ? When I first learnt about Dr Sarno and TMS, I hesitated a lot to be honest. I went to my physical therapist and told him about Dr Sarno's books...

    Knee pain--feedback appreciated

Hey Shamrock10, What you're going through now is a tough ride. I experienced something similar last year, but on my achilles tendons. I couldn't stand/walk, so it put a lot of stress on me. Both for work and my relationship. One million things went through my mind and all of them were negative...

    Recovery and Insecurity

Yes, I see what you mean. At the end of the day, it's about you and your recovery. The people around you don't have to live with the pain, nor the fear. THe only way I've found to not be disturbed by someone's (potentially) negative opinion about me, is to also filter out the 'good', the...

    Buried rage/anger

Hey, sounds like you're going through a lot. I can totally imagine why you have that rage inside you. Relationships + work combo, this is also what put me through chronic pain. Achilles pain, I know it too well unfortunately. This is what got me into looking into chronic pain and luckily I...

But what if fixing myself on an emotional level is a lifelong thing?

JanAtheCPA is right, you don't need to fix yourself. Dr Sarno mentioned this both in his book 'Healing Back Pain' and also on video. He also said this more clearly during the video presentation of his lecture. I'll try to find the time stamp and edit the post.

    Intro/My Story (New Guy)

Yes the title is very misleading. I first learnt about the book months ago, completely dismissed it since I didn't have back problems. I'm glad I went through it this time! Dr Sarno later expanded from back/neck pain to limbs, tendons, etc. I read it in just a few days this week, I'm re-reading...
