    Probable TMS, My Story

Hello there. My father was also an alcoholic and my mother suffered from anxiety. Your childhood was probably very stressful and there may be a lot of stuff that you have repressed. The symptoms you have described sound like TMS. I have experienced a range of symptoms since I was in my late...

    My first breakthrough

I am up to day 34 of the sep. I have had good and bad days but yesterday I had a breakthrough. I was doing my daily (mostly) walk and I noticed a lady about 50 metres ahead of me walking her dog. She suddenly stopped walking and began stroking her dog. I immediately started to feel angry because...

My first post - is this TMS?

Hi James. Just relax. You are going to be fine. You are young and you have had a physical work up and seen a urologist who gave you the all clear. It certainly sounds like TMS. If you are still at the point where you are trying to convince yourself you have TMS you need to read Dr Sarno's books...

    A slight understanding

I am up to day 16 of the SEP. I feel slightly better but have a long way to go. I just realised something. I get very fearful of doing new things. Like at work. All my peers have a false perception of me. They see me as calm and competent and always come to me for advice. The truth is (which I...

    Nerve pain anyone? :( help

Hi Alexandra. I had all of the symptoms you currently have. But the doctor put a name to it, fibromyalgia. I had it for about 3 years but back then I was unaware of TMS. It will go and it will go sooner rather than later if you ignore the pain and believe there is nothing structurally wrong...

My complete story -warning: this will be long.

Thanks cirrusnarea for sharing your story. I suffered back pain for several years. Now I alternate between urinary pain which also includes testicular pain and IBS. I am doing the SEP and I am hoping that I will begin to recover. It's important for everyone experiencing TMS to be optimistic and...

    Observation about symptom selection

Thanks Walt. I will think positive and make the affirmation that I am going to have a fantastic day before I get out of bed.

    Observation about symptom selection

Thanks Herbie. I have tried journaling the things in my life that have made me sad or angry. I have also tried thinking psychologically ie just being with my emotions. My protocol now is just trying to ignore the stomach cramps which start when I awake each morning and last until late afternoon.

    Food intolerance and TMS

I have had IBS for several months. I tried cutting out dairy and coffee for 2 weeks with no improvement. Funny thing was that when I reintroduced dairy and coffee my IBS went away for one week before returning again. Can anyone explain this?

    Observation about symptom selection

I am 59 and I have had tms since my late 20's. It began with wry neck (torticollis), which lasted for several weeks and the doctor prescribed me Valium and said that I had slept the wrong way. Then I got tennis elbow, which lasted several months from 15 minutes of painting. Then I developed...
