Painful sciatica, first occurrence 11/2025. Resolved with prednisone and PT after 10 weeks. Recurrence in 04/2026. Resolved with Dean Volk’s self-guided program in 8 weeks. Recurrence in June 2026 ongoing as I write this in early August 2026. MRI scheduled with orthopedic MD on 08/27/26. Going to Duke for second opinion on MRI 09/08/26. Very debilitating pain. When first 2 sciatica flareups resolved, I was completely pain free. Neither PT exercises from first flareup or Dean Volk exercises from second flareup have worked so far with the third flareup. Have had prednisone pack plus currently on gabapentin. Symptoms have improved a little bit. Am using rollator walker instead of cane now and that has helped pain a lot when walking.
