    Psycho-Physiological Dizziness Syndrome (PPDS)

Many years have passed since the original post. I am happy to see that PPPD (Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness) nowadays gives hundreds of hits on Google. I believe it has been "officially recognized" as a condition in 2017 by the medical community. I think this is a prime example of the...

Front teeth allodynia. Does this sound like TMS?

Many sympoms I once had have died down. Sometimes they revisit me briefly, but not as brutal and longlasting as before. Maybe read some of Plum's postings. She was diagnosed with atypical trigeminal neuralgia (or she came to that diagnosis herself, not sure... just read her story) and found...

Front teeth allodynia. Does this sound like TMS?

I honestly don't know, Sleepy, but I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe you didn't hit the right spots, maybe you didn't press hard enough, maybe triggerpoints aren't even an issue in your case. I just though it might be, as I've seen multiple cases where teeth sensitivity was accompanied by tp's in...

Just rambling: Inner turmoil and restlessness

God I love ur avatar... :) This chubby little guy certainly knows that it is OKAY to do nothing!! I do get what you're saying though. Sometimes when I am criticizing myself, I walk to the mirror, look at myself and say aloud 'I love you' ten times. Sometimes it really quiets my brain down.

Children with TMS (10-year old with stomach aches)

(I'll write this down in English, so others might benefit from this thread too) So coincidentally I just spoke to a Dutch mom in a similar situation. 11yo boy, very smart, belly aches for over a year now. At least a couple of episodes could be connected to him not outing his 'unreasonable'...

Do y'all prefer digital or physical journaling?

If you are a Windows user... use Notepad. It is simple, comes with Windows and won't make copies in the background; just close the program once you're done. To be extra sure you can do a 'CTRL-A' and 'Delete' before you close it down, although it isn't really necessary. However Jan raises a...

    Are you Catastrophizing?

Powerful little article! Yes, the last five days I have been recovering from a rather unusual cold and, being a man, of course I catastrophized every little symptom that made it unusual. I really like the one where you ask yourself: ‘What is the worst thing that could possibly happen?’ and...

Front teeth allodynia. Does this sound like TMS?

Yo Sleepy, You mentioning the clenching (masseter) and the neck/shoulder problems (often involves the trapezius) tells me it probably is TMS. Just look at the following link to see how the masseter and temporalis muscles are related to sensitive teeth...

Does anyone ever have muscle twitches/spasms in the calves or thighs

I agree with friday. I too have experienced those spasms and twitches, and not only in my calves and thighs. Jelly legs, unsteadiness, dizziness,.... been there, done that. Take a look at this thread, I feel it might help you...

weed marijuana pot bud grass herb dope homegrown etc.

Yes, cannabis (and many other substances, like alcohol, cafeine, cigarettes, etc.) can affect symptoms (emotions!) both positively and negatively, depending on the mood you're in already and the strain of cannabis involved. Anxiety is definitely involved in this. Certain strains of cannabis can...

    Dislocated vertebrae

Aleksey, Just some thoughts I wanted to share... maybe some of them turn out to be helpful. Why does chiropractice work sometimes? Imho it could be two things or a combination of those two. First it could be the momentary disturbance of a neural pathway by 'cracking', which makes it suddenly...

    Psycho-Physiological Dizziness Syndrome (PPDS)

Thanks Matthew, Jan and Plum... your replies more than fulfilled my emotional needs for today :shame: When I experience my personal (rather mild) relapses of TMS, as I too am only human, I sometimes revisit this forum. More often than not I stumble upon valuable posts and links that help me get...
