TMS is not about deeply repressed emotions

This makes so much sense to me. I've been completely pain free from TN, cluster headaches and migraines for three years and have recently had a flare up because of what I now believe (and knew at the time) is the way I have repressed my emotions in the past few months. I know where my anger...

    Nerve Pain Face Trigeminal Nerves

Hi, There is hope - I promise you. I have now been pain free for 14 months and believe that I am now in control of how my body responds to stress. I suffered with TN on and off for years and had a microvascular decompression which worked but then it recurred seven years later during a...

    numb/tingling face: Myofascial Pain Syndrome

Hi, I'm just back on this site to reply to something else and have read your January post. Your first sentence regarding a Christmas Day flare up almost made me laugh out loud - with recognition. I'm a TN 'survivor' who can empathise with so much of your journey and thankfully have been pain...

Have any of you quit your job that was killing you?

I've been reading through your posts on this, Guerno Triste, and just reading it makes me feel stressed! I think that you would benefit from watching some of Gabor Mate's videos on youtube. He wrote some great, compassionate books "When the body says no', and "in the realm of hungry ghosts'...

Really Struggling.. Know my issues are psychological but still can't make progress

Hi John, you seem to have so much insight into yourself and the way you think, feel and use avoidance tactics and I can empathise with your feelings of frustration and fear. I wonder if there's something that you've repressed and your doubts and fear are a device to protect you from feeling...

Really Struggling.. Know my issues are psychological but still can't make progress

Are you journaling / writing things down, as I found this a really good way to unlock the emotions that I didn't know I felt? I you approach it like automatic writing, you have a better chance of bypassing the rational part of your mind that is trying to talk you out of addressing the real issues.

    Neural pathways of pain?

I've realised through journaling that I wasn't feeling emotions at all really. I couldn't put a name to them as I'd become almost numb, but didn't realise it. I've posted on another thread about an experience I had journaling about a childhood event and started to feel quite nauseous. I stayed...

    numb/tingling face: Myofascial Pain Syndrome

Hi, I've been reading this forum for a few months and this is my first time posting. I hope that my story gives you a little hope. I'm now 58 and was diagnosed with trigemminal neuralgia over twenty years ago. About 11 years ago I had a microvascular decompression, which is a surgical...
