3 weeks after getting married, graduating with my PhD, searching for a post doc job, and while moving I hit my head 6 times within a 2 week period...within a week after I started getting severe scalp pain and face pain. Nonstop and went to see a number of docs 2 neurosurgeons, 7 neurologists, 2 pain management docs, 2 skin docs and underwent inpatient hospitalizations for weekly intensive IV infusions of Steroids, Lidocaine, Magnesium, DHE and also recently outpatient Ketamine and Lidocaine infusions everyday for 2 weeks. I also had Lidocaine injections (over 400 in a 16 month period) all over my eyes and forehead but mainly scalp and tried 2 rounds of Botox which made me worse.

I have tried a number of meds and the only 2 thay seemed to help were Lamotrigene and Nortriptyline.

Now I am on Baclofen for muscle spasms which I don't think is helping along with Cymbalta and Mexilitine for pain. The nerve spasms r the worst. I was going to inquire about the minor surgical procedure where they place an implant near the spinal cord that disrups pain messages to the brain. There are a few more meds I haven't tried yet so this is my current status. But all the months of stress leading up to my graduation consisted of non stop work on my dissertation, myself having major sinus surgery, and my dad passed away. So as you can see whole lot happening.
