    Annual Physicals?

We are on the same page Jan. Take good care, eat well. Doctors are in the business of finding something in you to "treat". No thanks. And I wouldn't take a flu shot for all the tea in China. Big Pharma. Ugh. My aches and pains are mine, I know what it is about. Working on it. Worry is a...

    Talking to myself....

Those survival skills were necessary at one time in our lives but no longer serve us in adulthood. Good for you to put them to rest. God bless...

    Annual Physicals?

Personally, I stay away from doctors. But that's me. Don't worry about anything but pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done. Philippians 4:6-7 God bless, Anita

    The Mindfulness Summit

My favorite statement in the summit thus far,,,thank you Daniel Goleman! "Mindfulness plus selfishness is a disaster!" Mindfulness plus compassion is the answer. Love it!

Day 10 why I don't share my feelings with some people

This thread describes my life! I don't share enough with others because I often don't believe anyone will really help me. Yet I spend my days trying to help everyone else, even in my career (I am the nurse at a boarding school). Lately I am trying to change my focus from, " how can I fix...

    The Mindfulness Summit

Your very welcome, Matthew. One thing I am not sure I have heard yet on the summit, and I have learned, is to resist the temptation to look for the results we think we want. More important to practice mindfulness in a way that resonates with you and just allow what comes in. It may not be what...

    The Mindfulness Summit

Organized religion gets a bit weird for me as well, yet I have a concept of God. It exists in each of us and is something that only wants what is good for us. It gets me through the night,,,,

    The Mindfulness Summit

Sometimes Sam Harris lost me because I do rely a lot on faith, yet so deep and insightful, no denying that. I am pleasantly confused!

    Let's start meditating together!

If you want something that an expert has designed and has served many, this is it. A 2500 year old tradition from Buddah himself, the basis of everything the modern folks derive their practice.

    Let's start meditating together!

Sometimes a great thing to do is to attend a class in person. Forest, I know you are in NYC, look up meditatiioninnewyork.org This is the kadampa Buddhist tradition and they hold many classes throughout the week in many locations in New York and more. Here on LI they ask a $10 donation, no...

    The Mindfulness Summit

Today's society thinks more is better. I don't believe that. To grasp onto " I meditate X amount of hours per day" is self grasping, it doesn't matter to anyone, and, most likely, makes the other feel inadequate. You do what you do and that is great for you. Boasting doesn't land well on...

    Caffeine and TMS

Giving up coffee is never a bad thing. It's easy, I've done it a thousand times...lol Honestly, I think a clean diet can only help. Again, be careful about blaming symptoms in external things, BUT, a good clean diet goes a long way towards health in general.

    Laughter Funny films . Books

Lately I have been watching the reruns of THE BIG BANG THEORY. My children watched for years but I never paid much attention until recently. Great stuff, especially for us TMS nerds.
