  • My Story

I have had TMS my whole life on and off. In 2017, I learned about Sarno and I had a book cure. But 4 years later my TMS came back much worse. I’ve been on the forum since 2024. Since joining the forum I’ve gone from 16 symptoms to four. But I’m not out of the woods yet. My symptoms are not easy to live with. I need help to walk, and I can’t fully use my hands because they are curled up. (My right hand is better than my left, thank God!) Most of my really bad symptoms kicked in after I had Covid. I’ve had severe anxiety my whole life, with a history of child abuse. But somehow, I’m still here! Some days I’m very happy. This is good news because a year ago I was in the deepest darkest hole ever. Little by little, I’m getting better. And I believe I will get there. I’m in it to win it. If you’re curious about more of my story, here’s some of my past. https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/threads/my-story-i-know-it’s-tms.28068/

Good day yesterday! got something out of the fridge, did dishes, did 10 squats, wrote on my book, cut up tomatoes, did bed yoga. Positive!

1 yr ago: Couldn’t stand without holding onto something. Today: I can. Next goal: to be able to walk unassisted. Never give up!

Recounted how many symptoms I’ve lost so far. It’s around 13. That’s not bad!

Gah!!! Sometimes I just want to scream! Right after things go good they usually go bad. I hate the roller coaster.

Still in the aftershocks of my latest onion peeling; emotionally exhausted. Couldn’t sleep. But feeling better physically! Yay!

When you’re having a hard day, ask yourself what you can do— don’t think about what you can’t do. Just do a little bit of anything.

There’s always hope in baby steps. They are the nearly invisible path to victory. Just like the tortoise and the hare. You can win.

I need glutes! Started adding a set of 3 squats here and there throughout my day. Building what you need feels powerful. :)

The onion keeps peeling itself. I’m shocked and amazed. Each layer brings pain, then realization, then hope.

Did brave things today. Faced the pain. Kicked its butt. Faced fear. Kicked its butt. Feeling not bad at all right now. :)

I overdid it on exercising. Oops! My hypersensitive nervous system shut me down. Back to square one. Such is life.

Came here to say the same as @Rabscuttle. YOU have gained so much more wisdom that square one isn't even possible - can't take the knowledge away. Imagine that we were able to take you and place you right back into 18 (?) months ago (or whenever this all started, would you feel the exact same as you did yesterday in terms of the square one?

Big day today. I made a salad, did the dishes and had a great attitude all day. I’m just different. Can’t explain it. But I feel it.
