Migraines after resolving back pain

    Hey guys, Kevin here. (26M)
    My horrible back pain is almost gone now which is amazing. Growing up, I dealt with migraines, especially when I was like 15. My doctor just chalked it up to puberty, and I guess that might have been true, as it went from like once every week or two to more like every month or two once I was 17 or 18. Two years ago when I injured my back which triggered my terrible TMS pain, I noticed after a while that I hadn't had a migraine in a long time. In fact, I can only remember maybe one in those two years, which was another evidence for TMS for me. In the last 2 or 3 weeks since my back pain decreased (almost went away completely), I have had 3 migraines, including today.
    Should I treat this as TMS? The answer seems obvious, but my usual triggers for my migraines have applied. For example, I didn't get good sleep yesterday, and so that typically brings a migraine, hence mine today. It just seems harder to convince myself that this is psychosomatic, whereas that was an easy realization for my back pain.
    Any advice? Thanks!

    Of course you treat it as TMS.

    What's going on in your life, emotionally and stress wise. That is the FIRST place you go. Having back pain alone can be stressful, but what led to the back pain?

    And yes, your brain may perceive that lack of sleep is "dangerous" - so think about the importance of sleep to you, and how much stress or thought patterns you might have around that? You have linked that lack of sleep is a trigger, but what triggers the thoughts that create this connection. This is where journaling can be super helpful.

    What is "treating it as TMS" mean to you? Meaning, what TMS work have you done? This information is super helpful for us to know where you at with the ideas and knowledge of TMS.

    I'd say when I feel back pain, trying to think of how I might be stressed, or thinking of any sources of repressed rage. I can try doing that with the migraine then, it just seems like once I get that visual aura, it seems pretty impossible to stop the pain.
    Also journaling has helped with back pain I think. Maybe I'll try it. Can using a TMS approach actually reverse the migraine process, or just prevent the next one from coming on? Honestly the migraines are a million times easier to deal with than back pain, so it's not the worst thing in the world that my TMS has shifted lol.
