Day 1 - Pelvic pain & man

    Hello,

I am a 40 years old man from France suffering from pelvic pain since 4 months with a continuous/persistent urge to urinate (that bothers me a lot) and anal pressure (bothers also).
It would be a myofascial syndrom according to my neurologist and previous exams.

I am a skeptical person. I am always doubting about the health professionals I meet : incompetence, lack of interest, cash machine... Also about psy or alternative professionals : I believe many technics are based on autosuggestion, which works (in my opinion) only if you do not know it is autosuggestion.... So, it is not easy for me to believe this method (even if I really would prefer to believe).

I am also a pessimistic person, or someone who likes to have control on things and always think about "what if", so I am effraid to be disapointed if it fails and it is not easy for me to be enthusiastic about this method (another option left if it doesn't work, which means loose my hope to get better).

I am also effraid to spend a lot of time searching and thinking about many difficult moments of my life. Hard to look back and focus only on negative moments (especially when you feel weak, lost and sad).

I believe the diagnostic of TMS can apply to me but I cannot say I am a 100% believer. I still have doubt as it seems to be a controversial method.m and for previous reasons. I do not want to stop medication and physiotherapy (my "B plan"). But I am sure it can help me at least to feel better (even if I secretly hope to be cured).

Thanks for the reading and sharing with me what you want,

PS : Sorry for my spelling mistakes, english is not my native language ;)

Hello, @Caminofrances and welcome to the Structured Educational Program! I'm going to tag our friend @ChronicVince who is also from France, who has been on his healing journey for a while, and has been a great support for our French-speaking members. Check out his profile and back story here https://www.tmswiki.org/forum/members/chronicvince.21638/ (ChronicVince)

The SEP is a wonderful free resource, and with today's translation tools, it's now easier for people all over the world to access it!

PS: your spelling is better than many native English speakers:D

    Bonjour @Caminofrances et merci @JanAtheCPA :)
This SEP program is a great ressource to start your learning, excersing and recovery process.
Indeed, it was also part of the beginning of my own recovery, with the lovely support of JanAtheCPA !
We can keep in touch in french when you'll like it.
Keep going secretely hoping you can be cure. You truly can !
I had exactly the same kind of thinking : skeptical (engineer...), pessimist and doubts ... but now I have so many stories that prove that it's so much more than auto-suggestion. It's really doing mental fitness to take care of your brain, as you could do physical fitness to take of your body. Everyone has to find his balance and it requires a minimum of knowledge and practices, very different from one person to another !
