Hi, this is my first day of this program and im not really sure what to write right now ill try my best. I am a 22 year old student and i have been battling with chronic pelvic pain syndrome for almost 2 years i think. My main symptom is urinary urgency and frequency.

When i was younger i remember that i had 1 or 2 instances of this certain pain but this was very shortlived and the pain disseapeared. However when the issues i have today began was a day in class where i really had to go to the bathroom, as soon as i got back in the class i had to go again and that urgency never went away. It started getting really bad that evening when i went to the cinema and i had to leave halfway during the movie because i had to go to the bathroom atleast 6-7 times during the movie. Panic started and the tension on my bladder was awful.

I booked a appointment with a urologist in my hometown. I got diagnosed with acute prostatitis even though they did not find any bacteria or anything really that would indicate that i had acute prostatitis, they also prescribed antibiotics. This worked for a week maybe then the symptoms where back. Every day was about survival during this period, all i wanted to do was make it through the day. However the symptoms eased of whenever i was at home or sitting close to a toilet. After alot of more appointments with different doctors and urologists i got diagnosed with CPPS. As soon as i started reading about cpps i felt that this was it and started reading forums and so on since i resonated with so much of it.

I started stretching and doing all the recommended things to try and relax my pelvic floor muscles. And this worked abit and improved my symptoms. However i still struggled in certain situations, whenever i was stuck in traffic, whenever i was in class, basically any situation where i felt that there was no direct access to a bathroom the pain intesified and was awful. This made me fearful of doing stuff in my free time such as going out places if i did not know for certain there would be toilets, it made me scared of the lines to enter a club. Whenever i had stuff to do that was mandatory such as schoolwork etc i would not drink any water until i was done with that, i dont know why but this made me feel abit more safe but i also knew that this was not a healthy thing to do. I knew that my symptoms depended on my mind alot since they did not appear when i was safe at home or close to toilets etc. After a while i stopped caring and this improved my condition tremendously and i could basically do anything i wanted. It was not difficult going to school and i would drink water normally, i started going out more and even started playing sports. This led me to believe that this issue is very mental atleast in my case.

Recently the pain started flaring up again and i ended up in a vicious cycle where my anxiety increased about having to survive every day again, which worsened my condition which then increased the anxiety more. I stumbled upon mind body and TMS and i immediately felt like this may be the solution and this is where i am today. I just read the healing back pain by Dr Sarno and started doing this programme today. And i am very hopeful.

    Thanks for reading

I am 19 years old and experiencing the same thing. I am currently in recovery and my systems are getting better. I can say with conviction that what we both have is TMS based on your message, and wish you the best of luck.
