Over 2.5 years of this specific TMS symptom… doing TMS work for 2 years this month…I have understanding and have read so many books and watched so many videos and podcasts… I definitely have had multiple symptoms over my whole life but this one has really hit me hard a it’s just so personal, so it’s not letting go. I really want to get a better foundation and do some REAL work to overcome all symptoms- especially bladder symptoms and palpitations. I’ve had freedom at times… I want full freedom. I want full healing. I took time to write what my life would look like TMS free. It would be amazing… I’m praying that this is where God has led me for help, because I’m so tired.

There are so many different opinions out there about TMS and there are so many ways we respond to treatment! Just keep going and tell yourself that you are safe!! And you are not alone. This forum is so helpful! One thing I have learned-don't focus that you want to be healed. Don't give yourself a timeline either. Your body will not follow it. My focus now is to be emotionally healthy. To feel the feelings when they come. I can't tell you how many even in this past week that I have caught myself stuffing down feelings. This is a process. And in that process you will learn about yourself. I'm currently on Day 17 and am learning everyday!

It sounds like to me that you need to stop feeding the pain cycle. When your mind starts focusing on your pain, you need to tell it to stop. Some people treat their brain like a young child. I tried that and it didn't work. I get frustrated at my brain and just tell it that I don't have time right now to deal with these symptoms because I am FINE!!! Start interrupting the pain cycle as soon as you notice you are thinking about it. Again, don't focus on the outcome. Your pain may still be there so you have to keep telling yourself that over and over again.

Also-are you focusing on your emotions? I have been journaling with the SEP program. After that, I'll probably try journal speak by Nicole Sachs. My body is not willing to give up emotions easily so I know this will take a while. But with the time that I have been writing I have learned so much about me!

Lastly, take time for you. Find something you enjoy. I've taken up walking in the evenings and listening to podcasts. You may not know what you enjoy. I sure don't at this point. But if I look to my past I know some hobbies I liked doing but gave up when the pain started.

I hope that helps. Keep staying strong-we all know how you feel and we all know you can get chronic pain free again!

Thank you for the encouragement! I have found when I start focusing on emotions I feel a lot better. It’s been a struggle not to focus on the symptoms. But I’ve come a long way! Hopefully this is the push over the edge.
