What have you done to educate yourself about TMS, and what plans do you have for further education about TMS?
I have read all the books that I recommend on my website and to my clients, trained as a SIRPA Practitioner and constantly refer to TMSwiki, I would also like to seek further information for supervision to support my clients with TMS.

What mindbody books do you recommend to your patients? In particular do you recommend Dr. Sarno's books?
Very much so, I recommend a list of books including Dr Sarno's I also ask clients to view Dr Sarno's thank you site along with TMSwiki, I believe that knowledge is power in the TMS world, consequently during a free 30 minute consultation I suggest that the potential client becomes acquainted with this pioneering work by reading and obtaining information about the approach.

As we are going to post your answers on the TMS Wiki, feel free to write some text to introduce yourself.
As a psychodynamic theory trained counsellor since 1996 I have supported thousands of clients with their emotional pain. Not surprising, is that several of my clients also present with physical pain such as severe back pain, constant headaches, depression, anxiety and in most cases insomnia – these symptoms subside as the counselling process draws to a close. I have also worked with clients who have suffered from TMS since 1999 after gaining my diploma in Curative Hypnotherapy…the basis of this treatment in simple terms is to uncover the root cause of the presenting problem and then removing it. If the symptoms were caused by emotional trauma or abuse then the process took longer. Hypnosis enables the lowering of defenses rendering the required result. The latter part of the process also includes working through forgiveness. However, I was not aware of the term TMS until more recently. I also offer EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) if the client is open to the concept, as the process is easy to learn which in turn, allows the client to self-administer without incurring further costs. Coming across Dr Sarno’s pioneering work was a pivotal moment for me, it has given me a far greater understanding of the mind/body connection, and even though curative hypnotherapy is incredible at getting the required results for many conditions, this process enables me to work with a myriad of symptoms that once I would not have agreed to work with, this is now my chosen therapeutic model for stress illness related conditions going forward.
