Journaling
Take the time and write out answers to the questions posed in the Generate Self Compassion Exercise. If you have one easily accessible, place a photograph of yourself as a child in front of you as you complete this exercise.

“Imagine yourself as a child. Visualize a time when you were feeling vulnerable, when you were being treated harshly, or when you were in some sort of emotional pain and needed to be comforted”

Write on how you would respond to this child. How would you comfort yourself? What would you say to yourself? What feelings come up for you as you imagine this child in pain?
