I find addressing my own body and mind during a flare up most helpful. Just acknowledging that I am upset and that it’s ok to be upset or stressed or angry helps me a lot. Often it results in an instant removal or reduction of pain for me.

On Day 17 now, and just read the Monte Hueftle questions. Finding the same thing as you, that if I listen for physical pain as a "voice" that needs my attention, it does alleviate the symptoms!
