The basics of recovery

I found this great quote in The Divided Mind recently

So many people look outside of themselves to recover. We go to doctors, read books, journal and journal some more trying to find an outside solution to bring in to recover us. But as Dr. Sarno mentions here, recovery happens when we look inside ourselves. We need to understand what we have, accept the diagnosis and begin the process of banishing our symptoms ourselve.

Agreed--we're the only ones who can heal our bodies and our lives-- but it is nice to have support from everyone here :)

Agreed as well with you both. Anything in life is pretty much up to us.So why wouldn't this be too?

Have to agree you completely, Forest. Healing must begin inside yourself, but that requires fundamental brain work that relocates your center of consciousness into the neocortex or whatever else you want to call it (the Freudian ego, the rational mind, what's that Dr. Schubiner calls it: the DLPFC?).
