Recommending Alan Gordon Program

For those of you who haven't checked it out I encourage you to do so. The recordings have been spot on for me and really drive home points that you can read but may not actually feel until you listen to Alan work with someone.

I'm getting a lot out of this program already. Thanks so much to Alan for creating it.

 

You have to give thanks, russd1818, to Alan for doing the original series of workshops, which were broadcast here on the TMS Forum perhaps a year ago. It was really a great privilege to hear him working one-on-one live with individual TMS patients. In fact, Alan's intuitive use of ISTDP methodology came as a revelation as I listened along. However, you have to give due credit to Forest for helping to link the sessions into a cohesive recovery program, of course with Alan's approval and assistance. Due credit where credit is due!

I thought Alan Gordon's 17 minute video (recommended by Forest) on the reasons folks struggle to accept the emotional etiology of TMS was excellent. It was helpful to me. My only suggestion to Alan, as a former psychotherapy/MSW colleague is to be clear that by PPD (which he refers to often) that he is referring to Psychophysiologic Disorders. In the mental health field, PPD is most commonly the acronym for Paranoid Personality Disorder, and if he is not clear in what he is referring to in the acronym, some of his colleagues may misunderstand. Otherwise, a very good, instructional video, in my view.
