Hyperprotective brain and fear of defeat

Artists (dancers, painters, musicians, writers,...) and athletes seems to be very prone to chronic pain (TMS). They are seeking recognition, success, social acceptance ( beyond money) through years and years of intense effort and dedication. But such goals are not guaranteed ... and failure is always a possibility. Failure and rejection means a wasted life.... so an hyperprotecting brain could send pain in order to avoid the oportunity of veryfiying such supposition. Writers and musicians get hand and arm pain, dancers and athletes foot and leg pain,.... and they think that is the logic result of an intense and abusive effort in order to be «perfect» and «winner».
The brain accomplishes its function: to avoid possible future traumatic emotions, depression and, at the end, autodestruction. Life first!
