Finally...I found out how to start a thread! Greetings from Down Under everyone! I have heard 3 of Dr Sarno's books in audio-book format. What a miracle! I am so excited about the possibility of finally finding the solution for my chronic pain. I already began to feel the difference by following Dr Sarno's advice as I become acquainted with the physiology and psychology of TMS. It is so good to share with other people who have experienced or are still dealing with TMS. Thank you for organizing such a comprehensive and informative website. Best wishes for ongoing healing!

Hi Veronica, good to meet you! Thank you for your note. Yes,Chaya (pronounced CHYE-ah, is a Hebrew name that means life). Chaya it is an Australian bulldog and it belongs to my daughter and son in law who also have another female bulldog Chaya's mom called Karma. Chaya is 3 years old now, and 36 kgs heavier than what she looks in the picture. She is an absolutely beautiful looking dog and has a most lovely temperament. The only thing is that she can be like a bull in a China shop. She does not seem to realize that people cannot hold a 36 kgs dog on their lap and she tries the impossible to be held like a baby. Chaya and her mom Karma nearly died at the time of Chaya's birth, hence why my daughter called her 'life':) I posted a picture of Chaya when she was 4 month old with Karma her mom

I have an English bulldog and a bullmastiff (who is my avatar). Love those wrinkly faces! A lot of TMS people seem to be dog people too :)

What is the name of your dog, it is oh so cute!!!!! Yes, I love dogs dearly, they do something for my soul and I can't stop smiling at them. Iadmire the way they offer affection and loyalty without holding back. I believe dogs know how to love much better than us human. Anyway, I love animals of all kinds. I am a nurse, studied psychology and became a priest, all in the bid of searching for healing. However, I think I could leave the human sciences happily and go into zoology. Despite the fact that I am concerned about animal bites;)

This one is Lulu. Here's my other girl, Maxine the bulldog. I teach meditation classes and Reiki healing and sometimes the dogs come sit with us in class. One of my students commented that we spend all this time trying to learn to meditate and be present and "Sensei Maxine" is already doing all of that :)

Hi Forest, many thanks for your kind reply. I came across Dr John Sarno and I believe it is no coincidence. Nothing is coincidence in my life. I have been seeking healing for pain in my body for as long as I can remember. I became a nurse, did psychology and finally became a priest in the bid of searching for physical, psychological and spiritual healing. And, in time it happened.

I had an accident in 2010, fell on a wet, icy polished concrete floor at work. This caused all kinds of physical injuries needless to mention that within 6 months I had 4 operations. I was left with the typical signs and symptoms of TMS. I already had pain for over 40 years. The pain was in the typical areas where TMS is generally located. To make matters more interesting, I developed all kinds of food intolerances. I was desperate, lost 12 kg in 1.5 months and prayed to God to show me the way. I have been away from work for 11 months now battling with all the above.

I have an iPod touch, I went to the audio books in iTunes and started looking at audio books on personal development and healing. I came across Professor Bruce Lipton and his books which I heard them all now: 'The wisdom of your cells' and 'The Biology of belief'. Then I came across Professor Candece Pert, I heard all of her books too, 'Molecules of emotions' was the first and then I went through 3 other books from her. My understanding of the physiology of emotions and genetics expanded. Because I have a scientific background I could understand what these scientists where going on about and it was an eye opener. I started understand an aspect of my biology that I somehow missed in my studies.

Then iTunes recommended a number of other audiobooks amongts them Dr J Sarno's books. Because my issue is back pain, I downloaded 'Healing back pain'. Hearing Dr Sarno's theory and scientifically based evidence was riveting. By then I was so desperate that I believed everything that Dr Sarno said. Then I heard 'The divided mind' and 'The Mindbody prescription'. I now believe that the amount of knowledge I accrued contributed to the easing of my symptoms.

I go for walks everyday for 1 hour and listen to these books. Until a week ago, I could not sit for more than 3 minutes. This has been the case since last January. I could only stand, lie down and walk. I was taking NSAIDs and pretty high power pain killers. My lumbar back was hurting terribly and so my neck. The pain has almost gone, how am I going to explain this to specialists and my general practitioner? I now ordered the book 'Unlearn your pain' by Dr Schubiner. In the meantime, I started journaling following the directions in this website. I read the daily reminders from healing back pain a number of times during the day and before I go to sleep. I am memorizing the reminders, they will become my mantra if ever symptoms re surge. I debate in my mind pain perception and I believe this will re-configure the connections in my brain. Thank God for the plasticity of the brain. Needless to say that I am thrilled. I found 'le joie de vivre!' Thank you so much for your work and website. This is the biggest miracle and I will tell others.
